-Dialogue + Quick Summary
♪ Topic 21: What kind of future invention would you like to see? Day 5.
Let’s start by listening to this week’s dialogue.
-Dialogue
What’s that?
I’m making a poster for the science club. It’s about vertical farming.
Vertical farming?
In traditional farming, you grow produce outside in a field.
You need a lot of land.
Right.
Vertical farming makes it possible to save space. You grow things in trays that are on top of each other, usually indoors.
Great idea!
Basically, it doesn’t depend on the weather. You need special equipment, though.
Still, that’s awesome!
From my personal point of view, it would mean I could eat my favorite vegetables all year round. Looking at the big picture, it would be great for everybody.
That’s fantastic! You know what future invention I’d like to see? 3D-printed shoes.
Shoes?
They’d be custom-made, so they’d fit perfectly. With the help of custom shoes, I’d be more comfortable, play better, and have less chance of getting hurt.
Excellent!
Of course, it might be expensive. But in my experience, good shoes are very important. In the long run, 3D-printed shoes would help everyone, not just athletes.
Good thinking!

Now, let’s listen to summaries of what Edison and Ayaka say.
First, you’ll hear a slow version of the summary. Then, you’ll hear a faster version of the same summary.
Try to write down the key words while you listen. Here we go.
