今回は、 Excuse me? 尋ねられたときの答え方についてです
Excuse me?
すみません」と言われたときの答え方は、基本的にYesです。
「何ですか」と言いたくて What? と答えたくなるかもしれませんが、少し失礼に聞こえてしまうので気をつけましょう
Yes と答えれば、丁寧で親切な返事になります。
そもそも Excuse me. というフレーズは、知らない人に対する丁寧な呼びかけなので、答える方も、丁寧に対応します。
例えば、駅で知らない人に声をかけられた場合
Excuse me?
Yes.
Does this train go to Tokyo Station?
Yes, it does.

鍵を置いてきてしまったために,
どうなったのかを、soの後に説明しています。次です。
3). I don’t have much money, so I can’t buy dessert.
私はお金をあまり持っていないので、デザートを買えません。
don’t have much money で、お金をあまり持っていません」という意味になります。その結果どうなったかを、soの後に示しています。
