「よし、 やってみよう! 」のような意味の決まり文句です。
何かを挑戦してみる直前によく言います。特に結果はどうなるかわからないけど、「やってみる」っていう場面で使います。
例えば 激辛カレーを食べる直前に、自分には辛すぎて後悔するかも、だけど行っちゃえ!
(Often said just before trying something. It is especially used in situations where you don’t know what the outcome will be, but you want to ‘give it a try’.
For example, just before eating a very hot curry, you might regret it because it is too hot for you, but go for it! )
っていう感じで Here goes! と言って食べます。
あーやっぱり辛い
同じように Here goes nothing! という言い方もよく聞きます。 日本語だと、 「ダメ元でやってみよう! 」という感じです。
テストや受験など 大変なことに取り組む場合は、 Here goes! と言って気合を入れましょう。
