今回は、 「友達。」 というときの様々な表現を学びます。
私の友達 は英語で何と言いますか? おそらく、 my friend が思いついたと思います。 my friend は、特定の友達を指して言うときや、 目の前にいる友達を他の人に紹介するときなどに使う表現です。例えば
こちらは私の友達のマリです。
This is my friend, Mari.
というときには のように言います。

また古くからの友達、旧友であることを強調して言うときには an old friend
と言います。 例えば、 「マリは古くからの友達です。 」

そして、 私の友達の一人、 というときには、 ２通りの言い方がよく使われます。 １つは、 今週の火曜日に学んだ、 one of を使って、 と言います。 one of my friends もうひとつは、a friend of mine と言います。 a friend of mine はよく使う一般的な表現です。 例えば、
「私は明日、 友達の一人を訪ねます。」 という時には、

〜のうちの１つや、誰々のうちの一人 というときには one の後に of + 名詞を続けます。 one のところに someを置くと、誰々のうちの何人か や何々のうちのいくつか という意味になります。 では私が言う日本語を英語にしていってみましょう。

〜する時間です。 〜する時です。 という時には、 It’s time. の後に、 to + 動詞の原型を続けます。
