-Mr. Honda’s Corner. このコーナーでは英語のルールや単語など、毎回1つのトピックを取り上げて詳しく見ていきます。
今回は r に関する発音のルールについて説明します。 これまでも少し取り上げましたね。 r の発音の基本は、舌先を口の中のどこにも付けずに [r] と発音します。 r は前後の文字により発音の仕方が異なります。
1). まず、単語の中に ar の綴りの部分がある場合です。
この綴りの場合、口を縦に開け、[ɑː] の音の後に舌を浮かせて [r] の音を出します。 ar の綴りの含まれる単語をダイアナの後に続けて発音しましょう。 口を縦に開けて音を出してください。

2). 次に単語の中に ir, ur, er, または wr の後に or の綴りが含まれる場合です。
この綴りの場合、口はほんの少しだけ開け、舌を浮かせながら初めから [ɚ] の音を出します。 では、クリスの後に続けて発音しましょう。 口をあまり開けないで音を出してください。
ir の綴りが含まれる 鳥 bird

wor の綴りが含まれる 単語 word.
3). 最後に綴りが or 及び w の後に ar の場合です。
この綴りの場合、唇を丸くして舌を浮かせて [ɔːr] の音を出します。 では、ダイアナの後に続けて発音しましょう。 唇を丸くして音を出してください。 or の綴りが含まれる

上手に発音できましたか？ r は他の文字との組み合わせで音の出方が変わるので、今リピートした単語の綴りを確かめて、発音の練習を何回か行ってくださいね。

ハイキングや釣りなどの楽しいアクティビティがたくさんあります。
like には「～のような」という意味の前置詞としての働きもあります。 like の後には名詞を置きます。 like は such as よりもカジュアルな表現です。

ここではこれまでに学んだ表現を使ったり、様々な会話の練習を行ったりして話す力を伸ばしていきましょう。 今週は例の示し方を学びました。 そこで今回のスピークアウトでは、それを活用して相手の質問に応答しましょう。
1). あなたは友達と話しています。 話題が音楽になりました。 (You are talking with a friend. The topic of conversation is music.) これからあなたに質問するので、例を示しながら2文以上で答えましょう。
What kind of music do you like? どうぞ。
あなたはどんな種類の音楽が好きですか？ という質問でした。 What kind と尋ねているので、まずは pop music, classical music, rock, jazz などの種類を答えます。 その後に例を示すと良いでしょう。 今即興で言えなくても、クリストダイアナの会話の例を聞いて、それらを参考にして言えるようにしましょう。 では、会話の例を聞いてください。
What kind of music do you like?
I like pop music. I love K-pop groups such as Stray Kids and ITZY.
ダイアナの例では、ポップミュージックが好きと言った後、KPOPのグループが大好きで such as の後に Stray Kids や ITZY を例として示していました。
2). もう1つ会話の例を聞いてください。
What kind of music do you like?
I like Japanese pop music. My favorite musician is Aimyon. I love her songs such as Marigold and Haru no Hi.
クリスの例では、1文目に日本のポップミュージックが好き、2文目に一番好きなミュージシャンの名前、3文目に大好きな曲を言っていましたね。
では再度あなたに質問しますので、2文以上で答えてください。 テキストをお持ちの方は「役に立つ表現」を参考にしてください。
