などのフレーズを聞いたことがある人もいると思います。 特に相手が困った時、 悲しい時などに使うことが多いです。
stand by は人以外にも使います。 例えば、 I stand by my story. というと、 自分が言ったことの見方だ。 つまり、 嘘じゃないよ。 という意味になります。

もし私の父が怒っているのならば、あなたたちは家に帰ったほうがよいです。
もし〜ならばというときには、 if を使います。 if は when や because と同じ接続詞なので、 2つの主語プラス動詞の部分を結びつけることができます。ここでの if -, の部分は 話し手が起こり得ると考えていること 条件を表します。今日のキーセンテンスでは 「もし私のお父さんが怒っているのならば」という条件をifを使って表しています。ifの後の動詞は現在形にします。この場合 動詞は現在形のisを使っています。文を書く場合 if my dad is angry の後にカンマを置き 後の部分との区切りが分かるようにします.
1). If it ‘s rainy tomorrow, I’ll stay home
もし明日が雨ならば、 私は家にいるつもりです。
もし明日が雨ならばという条件をifを使って表しています
2). If I don’t have to take care of my dog, I can go to Europe with you.
犬の世話をしなくてよいなら、 あなたとヨーロッパへ行くことができます。
ifの後には 否定文の形を続けることも出来ます。
3). Let’s hang out if you are free next Sunday.
もしあなたが次の日曜日に会えているのなら遊びましょう。
if で始まる部分を文の後半に置くこともできます。 その場合、 ifの前にカンマを置く必要はありません。
