A US consulting firm warns that 2025 will be the most geopolitically dangerous year since the early Cold War.
The Eurasia Group released its annual Top Risks 2025 report on Monday. The report was co-written by the group’s president, Ian Bremmer.
Bremmer cited the number one risk of the year as the arrival of the G-Zero world, where “people everywhere are facing heightened geopolitical instability driven by a lack of global leadership.” He said, “As a result, we have entered a uniquely dangerous period of world history on par with only the 1930s and the early Cold War.”
Bremmer pointed out in an online interview that the United States is the most powerful country in the world. But he said the incoming administration of President-elect Donald Trump “is oriented towards unilateralism on the global stage.”
He said there will be a “much more transactional approach to foreign policy” and “US-led multilateralism and support for those global institutions and rule of law” will be renounced.
Regarding China, Bremmer said the country is “focused much more internally” and indicated that it will inevitably have to concentrate on economic and domestic issues.
Other risks include those related to Trump’s return to office, referred to in the report as the “Rule of Don” and the “US-China breakdown,” and concerns about Russia, Iran and artificial intelligence.

そして、「米国主導の多国間主義や世界的な制度や法の支配への支援」は放棄されるだろうと述べた。
中国については、ブレマー氏は「より内政に重点を置いている」とし、必然的に経済と国内問題に集中せざるを得なくなるとの見方を示した。
その他のリスクとしては、報告書で「ドンの支配」や「米中の断絶」と呼ばれているトランプ大統領の大統領復帰に関連するものや、ロシア、イラン、人工知能に関する懸念などがある。
