Japan’s imperial palace enhances virtual experience
The website for Japan’s Imperial Household Agency in Tokyo has been given a major makeover. Visitors can go on a virtual tour of parts of the historic building and enjoy an immersive look at the interior.
The website includes 360-degree views of five rooms. They are the hall for state banquets, the entry hall where foreign dignitaries are greeted, and other locations.
The revamp by the Imperial Household Agency is the first in 15 years. It follows the launch of a public relations office that utilizes private-sector know-how.
The updated website offers schedules and news conference records of the Emperor and other senior members of the imperial family, as well as explanations of the imperial system and court culture. It also provides information on opening hours of the Imperial Palace and the Kyoto Imperial Palace.
