Well, that’s a great question. I listen to lots of news podcasts, and I have lots of news apps on my phone.

(And news is often mentioned in English conversation. Even if you don’t know much about the news, you should be able to catch up in conversation.)

アメリカの大統領選挙
アメリカには国王がいないので、 国家のリーダーである大統領を選ぶ選挙は4年に一度のとても大きなイベント。
政治の話題はデリケートですが、「誰が勝つと思う?」 や 「誰に勝ってほしい?」 といった話題はアメリカのあちこちでよく話されます。
何も政治論や政治学について議論するわけではないので、もし質問されたら、 「よく分からない」 で終わらせずに、 今週練習した Looks like – 表現を使って会話に参加してみてください。ニュースで見聞きしたことなどを入れて話すのもいいですね。
Presidential Election in the United States
Since the U.S. does not have a king, the election of the president, the leader of the nation, is a very big event that takes place once every four years.
Politics is a sensitive topic, but it is always a good time to ask questions such as, “Who do you think will win? and “Who do you want to win? and “Who do you think will win?
If you are asked a question, don’t just say, “I don’t know,” but use the expressions (Looks like -) you have practiced this week to participate in the conversation. It is also a good idea to include things you have seen or heard in the news.
何も政治論や政治学について議論するわけではないので、もし質問されたら、 「よく分からない」 で終わらせずに、 今週練習した Looks like ~ の表現を使って会話に参加してみてください。ニュースで見聞きしたことなどを入れて話すのもいいですね。
