Would you like…?、ほかの人に何かを提供したり、助けを申し出たりする際に使います。
テルマはてっきりエミリーが悲しんでいると思い込み、悲しみを和らげ、安心させようというキモチでこの言葉を使っています。 (Thelma clearly assumes that Emily is sad, and uses this word in an attempt to ease Emily’s sadness and reassure her.)
