なぜなら昨夜、私、ピッチングの練習をしたから。

ミカは昨夜、野球の自主練習をしたため、 疲れているのですね。でも面白さの方が眠気に勝っているみたいです。
(Mica must be tired because she had an independent baseball practice last night. But the fun seems to be more than the sleepiness.)
head back = go back

head だとそっちの方に向かうというニュアンスが入ります。例えば、図書館で夜遅くまで勉強していて、
It’s getting late.Yeah, we should probably head home. と言って家の方向に歩き始める感じです。
goは行く、headは向かうと覚えておくといいですよ。
