斉藤先生はグレイ、ミカ、タカシに日本の歴史を教えたいと思い、グレイに頼んで平安時代を訪れました4人はある人物のもとに向かいます。(Ms Saito wanted to teach Japanese history to Gray, Mika, and Takashi, so he asked Gray to take them to the Heian period, and the four of them went to a certain person.)

The first female Japanese novelist, right?
Possibly the first novelist ever in the world.

ストーリーに出てきた言葉やフレーズを一つ取り上げて、クリスとダイアナにその使い方を教えてもらいましょう。今日取り上げるのは
I know!
そのまま訳すと「知っている。」という意味ですが、今回のストーリーでは別の使い方をしていました。
いいアイデアを思いついたときに使います。
「そうだ。」のようなニュアンスで、 I know! と言います。例えば会話ではこんな風に使いますよ
What should we do this weekend?
Hmm. I know, let’s go skiing in Hokkaido.

I knowの使い方わかりましたか?
-Today’s key point
今日の学習ポイントは今月のできるようになること。いろいろな文の形で情報を伝えよう。」です。そして今日のキーセンテンスはこちら。
私は彼女にプレゼントをあげるつもりです。
「あげる」という意味の動詞 giveの後に、「人に物を」の順で、2つの言葉を置いて、人に物をあげるということができます。今日のキーセンテンスの場合、give の後に人ににあたる her、続いて物をにあたる a present を置いて、give her a present、彼女にプレゼントをあげる」という表現になっています。
her、a present はそれぞれ動詞giveの目的語になっています。
つまり、giveの後に人に物をの順で、目的語を2つ置いています。
それでは他の例文も見てみましょう。
1). 父は私にこの電子辞書をくれました。
My father game me this electronic dictionary.
gave は giveの過去形です。gaveの直後に、人ににあたる me、物にあたる this electronic dictionary の順で、目的語を2つ置いています。
次に、人に物をの順で2つの目的語を置くことのできる他の動詞の例です。
2). ケンは彼のお母さんに腕時計を買いました。
Ken got his mother a watch.
got は買うという意味の動詞、get の過去形です。got の直後に、his mother a watch の順で目的語を2つ置いています。次です。
3). I bought my sister a new hat.
私は妹に新しい帽子を買いました。
but は買うという意味の動詞、buy の過去形です。but の直後に、my sister, a new hat の順で目的語を2つ置いています。
