Good question! 「良い質問です」という意味ですが、ストーリーのように答えを知らない、または答えを用意していなかった時にも使えるフレーズです。
I don’t know. のバリエーションでよく使います。
例えば、友達と映画を見に行って、
What time does the movie start? と聞かれて、
あ、そういえば調べるの忘れてた! と思ったら、Good question. Let’s check online.
こんな風に使います。
他には、まだ決まっていない時など、はっきりと答えない時にも使います。
What should we eat for lunch?
Good question. Hmm. How about ramen?という感じです。
質問の答えがわからない時に正直に、I don’t know. というのもいいですが、Good question と答えると、ちょっと余裕がある感じに見えるかもしれません。ぜひ使ってみてください。

「何々してはどうですか?」や、「〜しませんか?」と相手に提案するときは、Why don’t you -?を使うことができます。
Why don’t you の後には動詞の原形を置きます。それでは他の例文も見てみましょう。
1). Why don’t you ask that police officer?
I will.
あの警察官に尋ねてはどうですか?
そうします。
相手の提案を受け入れ、そうします、という時には、I will などを使います。次です。
2). Why don’t you come over for lunch?
Thank you, but I can’t.
ランチをしにうちに来ませんか?
ありがとうございます。でも、行けません。
come over は、 家などにぶらっとやってくるという意味です。 次です。
3). Why don’t you invite Mana to your birthday?
That’s a good idea.
マナをあなたの誕生日パーティーに招待してはどうですか?
それは良い考えです
invite は招待するという意味です。相手の提案が自分にとって良いと感じるときには That’s a good idea! などと答えます。
