First Listening.
First, let’s listen to the story and get the basic idea.
グレイのお父さんは、斉藤先生を家のなかに案内し、星が抱えている事情を説明しています。
グレイ、ミカ、タカシは2人が戻るのを家の外で待っています。(Gray’s father shows Dr. Saito inside the house and explains the situation Hoshi is in. Gray, Mika, and Takashi are waiting outside the house for them to return.)

今回は人に対して使う場合の nice の使い方です。「親切」「優しい」「人がいい」などの意味があります。
「優しい」「親切」と聞くと kind を思い浮かべる人も多いかもしれませんが、日常会話では nice の方が多く聞くかなと思います。
もちろん、”He is a kind person.” 「彼は親切な人です」と言ってもいいですけど、「彼っていい人だよ」とカジュアルに言うときは He’s nice. を使います。
Nice と似たニュアンスの言葉として cool もよく使います。
ストーリーに出てきた He’s cool. もここでは「彼はかっこいい」という意味ではなく、Nice と同じように「いい人だ」、つまり「優しい」という意味です。
他にも good も He’s a good guy. のように使うこともあります。
友達や家族などを紹介するときに kind だけではなく、色々な言い方を使ってみましょう。

「～の間に」と言うときには接続詞 while を使います。while のあとは主語 + 動詞の形を続けます。
今日のキーセンテンスでは I’ll show you around あなたたちを案内するのがいつなのかを while they chat 彼らが話している間 の部分で説明しています。
例文
1). I didn’t talk to Emma while she was studying.
エマが勉強している間、私は彼女に話しかけませんでした。
過去の事を話す文では while のあとの動詞を過去形にします。While のあとに現在進行形や過去進行形を使うこともあります。
2). We should get home while it’s still light outside.
まだ外が明るい内に私たちは家に帰るべきです。
while 「～する内に」と訳すこともあります。 still 「まだ」、light 「明るい」
3). What would you like to do while you are in New York?
あなたはニューヨークにいる間に何をしたいですか？
疑問文であっても while のあとは肯定文や否定文の形になります。
