Eurasia group forecasts top 10 risks of 2025
A leading U.S. consulting firm has warned 2025 will be the most geopolitically dangerous year since the Cold War. The group says the top risk is the arrival of the so-called G-Zero world, where people face heightened geopolitical instability due to a lack of global leadership.
The Eurasia Group announced its annual top risks list on Monday. The report was co-written by the group’s president, Ian Bremmer.
The report pointed out the incoming administration of U.S. President-elect Trump will accelerate America’s abdication of its longstanding role as world sheriff, champion of free trade, and defender of global values.
Regarding China, Bremmer said the country is focused much more internally and indicated it’ll inevitably have to concentrate on economic and domestic issues. The group warned that the lack of global leadership is growing critically dangerous.
Other risks include those related to Trump’s return to office and the “U.S.-China breakdown,” as well as concerns about Russia, Iran, and artificial intelligence.

ユーラシア・グループは月曜日、毎年恒例のトップ・リスク・リストを発表した。報告書は同グループのイアン・ブレマー会長が共同執筆した。
報告書では、トランプ次期米大統領は、世界の保安官、自由貿易の擁護者、グローバルな価値の擁護者としてのアメリカの長年の役割の放棄を加速させるだろうと指摘している。
中国についてブレマー氏は、同国はより内政に重点を置いており、必然的に経済と国内問題に集中せざるを得なくなると指摘した。同グループは、グローバルなリーダーシップの欠如が決定的に危険になってきていると警告した。
その他のリスクとしては、トランプ大統領の大統領復帰や「米中断交」に関連するもの、ロシア、イラン、人工知能への懸念などがある。
