Hi there everybody, I’m Christie West. Today, let’s talk about something I love, and that’s sweet, delicious Japanese fruit.
今回取り上げる のはNHKワールドジャパンで2月27 日に放送されたこちらです。

味見の時間です。青森で雪の下に埋められた果物の
雪の中に貯蔵されていた ある果物 を掘り出す催しが青森県で行われたというニュースです。 その果物は すぐには正体が明かされず謎の謎のような構成になっています。

その果物が何なのか注意して聞いてみてください。
それでは１文ずつ見ていきましょう。ひとつ目の文にはその果物を擬人化したかのような表現が出てきます。

crunch time は 試練の時踏ん張りどころという意味です。 ここでは雪の中に埋められていたその果物のいよいよ出番の時が来たという意味で使われています。 また、 crunch クランチはバリバリと食べ物を噛み砕こうとする事を表すことから、 その果物をかじる時が来たという意味をかけています。

apple という単語が登場し、雪に覆われた謎のフルーツとは、リンゴであることが明らかになりました
