さあ それも含めてノーベル賞や選挙などについて基本的な英語を使って話せるようになりましょう。
(Come on, that’s all part of it, and you can talk about Nobel Prizes, elections, etc. using basic English.)
では1回目の挑戦です(Now for the first challenge.)

僕の言う日本語を時間内に英語で表現してください。一つ目は、こちら。
1. 今、アイスランドでのビッグニュースは何ですか?
What’s the big news story in Iceland now?
ビッグニュースのことはそのまま ビッグニュース big news というよりも、 ストーリーを付け加えて、 ビッグ ニュース ストーリーという方が伝わりやすいです。

2. アイスランドでのビッグニュースはノーベル平和賞です。
ノーベルピースプライズ the Nobel Peace Prize を使って、
次の表現です。
3). まず 選挙を英語で言うと、 The answer is election.
では次です。 まず 英語で 大会。 スポーツ大会とかいろんな大会ありますね 英語で 言うと
The answer is tournament.
Use the word, tournament to make this question.
4. この大会はヨーロッパで話題になっていますか?

「ビッグニュース」 を英語で言うと?
そのまま big news と言うよりも、 story をつけ加えて big news story と言うほうが伝わりやすいでしょう。
これを活用すれば、 会話の糸口にも便利な質問ができますよ。 (If you use this expression, you can ask useful questions to start a conversation.)
