今回練習する世間話のテーマは年越し。 そしてクリスマスです。
相手の国ではどのようにお祝いするのか尋ねたり、日本ではどうお祝いするのかを説明できるようになってきましょう。
(he theme of the small talk we will practice is New Year’s Eve. And Christmas.
You should be able to ask your partner how they celebrate in their country and explain how they celebrate in Japan.)
OK everyone,it’s time for your first try.
では日本語を英語で表現してください。まずこの表現を言ってみよう。
1). 年越しを祝う。
The answer is “celebrate New Year’s.”
それでは年越しを祝う。Celebrate New Year’s を使ってこちらを言ってみよう。
4). では次です。まず英語で焚き火を言ってみよう。
The answer is bonfire.
では、bonfireを使ってこちらを行ってみよう。

国際コミュニケーションで便利な時事問題に関する質問
僕は時事問題にすごく関心があって、 世界中の人たちとコミュニケーションを取るのも大好き。 ですので、 時事問題をきっかけに話すことがよくあります。 例えば、 相手の国で今どんなニュースが話題になっているか、自分の国に関するニュースが相手の国ではどれくらい知られているかといった感じです。 (I am very interested in current affairs and love to communicate with people from all over the world. Therefore, I often use current affairs as an opportunity to talk with them. For example, what news is currently popular in their country, or how much news about my country is known in theirs.)
国際コミュニケーションで盛り上がる話題お祝い相手の国でのお祝いのしかたを話し合うと、 相手の国の文化がより一層見えてきます。
(Discussing how to celebrate in the other person’s country, a topic of lively international communication, will reveal more about the culture of the other person’s country.)
クリスマス当日よりもクリスマスイブがにぎわっていますよね。 それに、日本では11月から早くもクリスマスの飾りつけが街なかで見られるようになったり、 学校などでクリスマスイベントが開かれたりもします。 こうした習慣は国によって異なるので、とても興味深いです。
(Christmas Eve is more crowded than Christmas Day, isn’t it? In Japan, Christmas decorations can be seen on the streets as early as November, and Christmas events are held at schools and other places. These customs vary from country to country, which is very interesting.)
