今回は、「〜についてどう思いますか？」、と相手に印象を尋ねたり、「 〜そうです。〜のようです。」など、自分が持っている印象を伝えられるようになりましょう。
世間話でよく使われる表現ですので、ぜひ一緒に練習して身につけましょう。
And again, today’s lesson will be in almost all English.

-OK, everyone. It’s time for your first try.
Now. I’ll say something in Japanese and you’ll express it in English. Here’s the first one.
1). 新しい首相についてどう思いますか?
All right, here’s the next one.
2). 彼は優しそうです。
答えを言います。
He seems nice. Or you could say, “He seems kind.” Both are okay. Here’s the next one.
3). 彼は真面目で頭が良さそうです。
Start with “he seems -“. Go ahead.
8. 彼女の授業は人気のようです。
Let’s go to the next one. But first, how do you say 新しくやってくる年?
In English, it’s the coming new year. Alright, try to make this question with the coming new year.
9. 新しくやってくる年についてどう思いますか?
Start with I hope -. Go ahead.

瞬発力を発揮するための英語のレベルアップ
英語の 「レベルアップ」 と言うと、どんなことを思い浮かべますか?
あらゆる単語を覚えて語彙を増やすことも、レベルアップの1つでしょう。 ただ、このレベルアップのしかたには問題もあると僕は思います。それは、記憶力が強くないとできないということ。そして、たくさん単語を覚えても、 それが実際の英会話での瞬発力に結びつくとはかぎらないということです。
(One way to level up would be to learn all kinds of words and increase your vocabulary. However, I think there is a problem with this method of leveling up. You have to have a strong memory to do this. And even if you memorize a lot of words, it does not necessarily translate to instantaneous ability in actual English conversation.)
これは 「受験で猛勉強したのに、なかなか言葉が出てこない」という経験をされた方ならよく分かるはず。
この問題を解決する方法は簡単。 定番の英語表現をしっかりと身に付けて、 応用表現も使いこなせるようになることです。
(If you have ever had the experience of “I studied hard for an exam, but I can’t get the words out”, you know exactly what I mean.
