In the U.S., a Sweet Sixteen, it’s like a big party for someone who turns 16 years old, and there’s different types of celebrations. Traditionally, girls are the ones that have a Sweet 16. And on this occasion, they may receive high heels from a male figure in her family or her father. And from her mom, she might receive a tiara or it might be another female figure in her family.

アメリカでは、スウィート16って16歳になる人のための大きなパーティーみたいなもので、いろんな祝い方があるんだ。伝統的には女の子がスウィート16を祝うんだ。この時、家族の中の男性、例えば父親からハイヒールをもらうこともある。母親からはティアラをもらうかもしれないし、家族の中の別の女性からもらうこともあるんだ。
