There’s no real difference in meaning. Curry bun and curry bread usually refer to the same Japanese food: カレーパン.
Why are there two names?

Curry bread is more common.
It comes from the Japanese name kare-pan (カレー + パン).
“Bread” reflects the fact that it’s made from bread dough.

Curry bun sounds more natural.
