Nikkei 225 rises near 50,000 mark

Tokyo’s Nikkei 225 stock index continues its bullish run on expectations for the launch of a new coalition government. It set another intraday high in early Tuesday trading, nearing the 50,000 line.
The Nikkei 225 gained more than 700 points, or 1.5 percent, at one stage from Monday’s close, which was an all-time high.
It also followed an overnight rally on Wall Street on expectations that the shutdown of US government organizations will end soon.
The Tokyo benchmark took about 10 months to reach the 40,000 mark from 30,000, but took only three months to close to 50,000.
Analysts are aware of cautious views on an overheating trend in the stock market given rapid price rises.
But expectations on Japan’s new coalition government are encouraging investors to buy.
They anticipate main ruling party chief Takaichi Sanae taking the helm of the country and that her aggressive fiscal policies will support the economy.
Lawmakers will choose the new prime minister on Tuesday afternoon, and a new Cabinet will be formed.
