1. In a sense, a conductor is like a CEO in a company.
In a sense：「ある意味で」＝副詞句（文全体を修飾）
a conductor is like a CEO：「指揮者はCEOのようだ」
→ “be like ～”（～のようである）は比喩・類似を表す。
“in a sense” は “in a way” と似ており、意見をやわらげる表現。
In a way, you’re right.（ある意味では君が正しい。）
2. There are different types of leadership, but how do you lead an orchestra to create good music?
There are：存在構文（～がある）
to create good music：目的の不定詞（「良い音楽を作るために」）
「how do you lead … to ～」＝「どのように導いて～するのですか」
“lead A to do” は「Aを導いて～させる」。
His advice led me to change my mind.
（彼の助言で私は考えを変えた。）
3. Actually, to me, the conductor is more like the coach of a sports team.
Actually, to me：「実際のところ、私にとっては」＝強調と主観を表す副詞句
is more like：「より～のようだ」＝比較表現
“more like A than B” の省略形。
He is more like a brother than a friend.
（彼は友達というより兄のような存在だ。）
4. The CEO of a business is the person who runs the business, OK?
who runs the business：関係代名詞節。CEOを説明。
run (a business) は「経営する」。“manage” よりも口語的で広義。
She runs a small restaurant.（彼女は小さなレストランを経営している。）
5. This is how we’re going to practice.
This is how + S + V：「これが私たちが～するやり方です」
we’re going to：be going to（未来の予定・意図）
「how節」は副詞節ではなく名詞節（関係副詞 how が導く構文）。
This is how I did it.（こうやってやったんだ。）
6. We try to perfect our playing of the sport so that when it comes to the game, we have a real plan.
try to perfect：「完璧にしようと努力する」
so that ～：「～するために」＝目的を表す接続詞
when it comes to ～：「～になると」「～の段階になると」
“when it comes to + 名詞” はイディオム。
→ When it comes to cooking, she’s the best.（料理のこととなると、彼女が一番だ。）
7). There’s not much you can really do.
not much + 名詞：「あまり多くの～はない」
you can really do：関係節。
“There’s not much (that) you can do.” の省略構文。
→ “that” が省略されているが、文法的には関係代名詞節。
8. You have to adjust to the events.
adjust to ～：「～に適応する」「～に合わせる」＝自動詞＋前置詞。
“adjust” は 他動詞 と 自動詞 両方あり：
自動詞：adjust to a new environment（新しい環境に適応する）
他動詞：adjust the mirror（鏡を調整する）
