ITO, Shizuoka — Ito Mayor Maki Takubo on Sept. 10 dissolved the municipal assembly after it earlier passed a no-confidence motion against her in connection with her academic fraud scandal. Takubo officially notified assembly speaker Hiromichi Nakajima that she would dissolve the council.
