Agatha Christie was a famous British mystery writer known as the “Queen of Crime.” She wrote 66 detective novels and became one of the best-selling writers in history.
She was born in England in 1890 and was educated at home. As a child, she spent a lot of time alone, reading books and creating stories in her mind. She loved inventing characters and imagining their adventures. This helped her become a great writer.
When she was sick, her mother encouraged her to write her stories in a notebook. Later, her poems were published, and she began writing novels.
During World War I, Christie worked in a hospital and learned about poisons. This knowledge helped her write her famous murder mysteries.
Her first mystery novel, The Mysterious Affair at Styles, was published in 1920. It introduced her famous detective, Hercule Poirot. She also wrote plays, including The Mousetrap, which became the world’s longest-running play.
Christie continued writing until shortly before her death in 1976. Her life shows how her childhood, experiences, and imagination helped her become one of the greatest mystery writers of all time.
