BBCNews: PlayStation will stop releasing games on discs in 2028.

New PlayStation games will no longer be released on discs starting in January of 2028.
You’ll still be able to buy new games in stores, but they’ll come with a digital code instead.
Why? Well, Sony said it’s all about consumer preferences as the general preference for digital media significantly outpaces physical discs.
But not everyone is happy. Last week, Rockstar announced that Grand Theft Auto 6 would launch without a physical disc, and we saw all your comments.
A big concern, does this mean you can’t lend a game to a friend or sell it later on?
The BBC has asked Sony whether it plans on making it possible to transfer ownership of a digital game in the future in light of this announcement. The firm has yet to comment.
